BIO

Lavender Yang is an animator, illustrator, and storyteller currently pursuing her BFA in Animation at the Kansas City Art Institute. Honored as a two-time Scholastic Art & Writing Award Gold Key winner, Lavender has established a strong foundation across both traditional and digital mediums, ranging from 2D character animation to 3D software, still life drawing, and painting.

 

Her animated short films, including Melk and Pipes, were selected for the prestigious deadCenter Film Festival through Artspace at Untitled’s stop-motion animation program. Coming full circle, Lavender later returned to Artspace as an intern to help mentor the next generation of young animators navigating the same program. Her professional experience also includes serving as an Animation Intern for the Kansas City Royals and operating as a Student Affairs Event Coordinator at KCAI.

 

Proficient in industry-standard software such as Toon Boom Harmony, Adobe Creative Suite, and Clip Studio Paint, Lavender brings a deep passion for character development and world-building to every pipeline she works in.
